Congratulations to Joel Davey and Katrina Norbury for securing REPRESENTATION after participating in the June London West End Week Casting Opportunities Program.
David Macrae attended the May 2011 Actor Networking Week in LondonAs one of seven students in the one-week course from 9 to 13 May, 2011, I was given the opportunity to meet with some of the leading Agents, Casting Directors, and Directors in London, all of whom gave us “one on one” time to perform our monologue and then gave us constructive feedback not only on the monologue but also on our headshot and CV....all absolutely invaluable. Now some 10 days after the course has finished, I have returned to Australia and am doing what needs to be done here to ensure I am back in London by early August 2011, to not only follow up on an offer of representation from one of the agents I met but also to follow up with some of the directors and casting directors who provided me with very positive comments about my future prospects and that I should contact them on my return. If you are serious about being an actor in London, then this workshop must be your first step. You will not find these opportunities elsewhere. Make no mistake, this week is hard work simply because of the level at which you will be pitching yourselves - but if you are a serious actor, then you are used to hard work - and this week is for you. |

Holly Grace Holly Grace attended the May 2011 Actor Networking Week in LondonIf you're an actor who is moving to London to pursue your career, I highly recommend you invest in this networking week! The program was carefully constructed making sure we heard from the top industry professionals in the country. The industry in the UK is somewhat different to that of Australia and it could take many months of wasted time as you figure out the dos and don’ts, the ins and outs. However, in one week I was given invaluable advice and direction and I now have a clear idea of what I need to do in order to make the work happen! Two weeks on from the program and I am organising a showcase with one of the directors I met. As I am new to the industry in London, this opportunity would not have happened without the help of Paul and this fantastic week! If you're serious about your craft and your career - come prepared, do your best and invest in what you love! |

Joanne TrentiniJoanne Trentini attended the October 2010 Actor Networking Week in London If you are serious about your career as an actor, you need to go to London. If you’re serious about going to London, you need to attend this course! As working artists it is difficult to make a financial commitment such as this but it is an investment worth making. This course gives you access to top Agents and Casting Directors currently working in the country in a safe and welcoming environment with individual feedback sessions given at the end, a golden opportunity only afforded to the participants of this course by virtue of Paul’s excellent contacts in London. The meetings are part audition, part information session and give you a rare insider’s view of the industry. The carefully selected combination of professionals working across theatre, musical theatre, film and television, accommodate for performers of varying talents. Their insights are invaluable for the working artist, informed, practical, and above all prepare you for the realities of working as an actor in London. As a result of participating in AI Corporate’s October course, I not only received offers of solid interest from working casting agents and production companies I have also secured an agent that I have begun working with in preparation for my return to London in February. I can’t recommend this course highly enough; Paul and Julie offer a rare and high quality service that is affordable and practical and an investment worth making. Joanne Trentini |

Lily BrownLily Brown attended the June 2010 Actor Networking week in London "After taking the leap of faith and attending the Actors Intensive Week in London this June 2010, it has certainly paid off. I recently auditioned for a lead role in Robbie Moffat's next Feature Film 'Nudes in Tartan'. Robbie Moffat took one of the fantastic workshops on the course and it was not only a great opportunity to meet him again through the auditioning process but I now have the pleasure of working for him, as I got the part! I am very excited to begin 3 weeks of paid filming work and it really shows the importance to being able to make good contacts as you are not only on this course to learn but also as a potential employee in the business. Thanks to Julie and Paul for creating the opportunity so I can work at doing what I love." Lily Brown London November 2010. |

Joel Davey"This is what Joel Davey had to say about the week 1 June 2010 to 4 June 2010: Having completed this intensive course of meetings with some of the leading Agents and Casting Directors in London, I have one message to anybody serious about pursuing an Acting career in this city: it may be the best investment you make towards entering the business at the very highest level. Within one week of arriving back in London, I have not only secured representation with a terrific Agent but I now retain an extensive roster of contacts who actively cast international Theatre, Film and Television productions. Be prepared to be impressed with the calibre of industry professionals assembled by AI Corporate; be prepared to be inspired by the depth and diversity of knowledge at your fingertips. But above all be prepared." Why Joel Davey has decided to participate in the June London West End Week Program: "I chose to take part this week because it’s been a longstanding ambition to return to London to work as an actor. Having trained at two great drama schools here earlier this decade I have an existing bunch of contacts, which I knew would be enhanced by this intensive industry ‘meet and greet’. I hope to gain representation by one of the agencies and hope to generate interest from all of the folk we will be meeting with." |

Katrina NorburyI enrolled for the June London West End Week, not knowing quite where it would lead, but the prospect of being able to perform for well known Casting Directors and Agents based in the west end, was unique. From the moment of meeting the other actors involved, I knew that everyone felt as I did: that we all wanted to get something useful out of our investment in the course. Through his experience and contacts, Paul, the Creative Director, knows the people we need to meet and learn from. The week was as you would expect – intensive, but by the end we had all gained enormously from the professionals we had met – from Film, TV, Theatre and Agencies – and all felt that our prospects were brighter as a direct result of attending this excellent course. I nearly forgot to mention that it was also tremendous fun! Why Katrina Norbury has decided to participate in the June London West End Week Program: "I chose to be on the London West End Week programme, because it offers me the opportunity to meet excellent Agents and Casting Directors, on an individual basis – or within a select group – which would be impossible otherwise. It also gives me the chance to perform for them -so I hope to receive some very pertinent comments and advice, in the hope of being taken on by one of them." |

Kellie ClarkeKellie Clarke attended the April London West End Week program in the UK 2010. "The London West End Week is an amazing experience!!! It allows you to get in front of some of the best agents and casting agents in London (people who would otherwise not do general go sees). Throughout the week you are exposed to some wonderful teachers of the craft such as the precious Nina Finburgh, who opens you up and tears down the fear of cold reads. Chrys Salt takes an intensive look at the business side of things, balanced with the inspiring John Osborne Huges with the psychology of acting!!! From doing workshops with and getting to know casting directors, agents and directors, to seeing Sir Rodger Moore at Pinewood, to getting a sneak peak at the studios themselves, to absorbing yourself in the UK industry, every moment was priceless and has allowed me to make essential contacts within the industry as well as with like minded passionate people!! I am so grateful to both Julie and Paul for taking the team on this journey and making what would almost be impossible if trying to do it alone, possible." |

I feel an obsessive, energizing, emotional, undeniable purpose to perform. I want you to understand the passion, vision, joy and level of commitment I will bring to this course, April London West End Week because I take pride in performing. I am hard-working, self-motivated, optimistic, energetic and passionately serious about my goals. My first priority will be to develop my skills vocally, mentally and physically to become fully equipped with new perspectives, gained knowledge and skills but more importantly life changing experiences. In the end I will be able to network into this highly competitive industry as a Professional Performing Artist and it will be all thanks to you. Thank you. Jennifer Van Heeckeren attended the April London West End Week starting 18th April 2010 "LONDON WEST END WEEK is simply a great opportunity. Full and foremost an amazing net-working tool for actors who want to work in the industry. I spent only two days on the workshop myself as I… got stuck in the middle east during the Icelandic eruptions. But of those days, Id say it was a worth the wait. Some highlights were the PINEWOOD studios, one on one sessions with casting directors from the BBC etc, interviews with incredibly insightful TOP agents and acting mentors who are internationally recognized. Coming from Australia, there are different methods and approaches to the work and its business and in this workshop week you quickly learn these differences. Including a Black/white and colored Head shot (shoulders up and not too Glamorous) One page resume without commercial experience and attention to detail (Production Values) A great showreel (your own website is always a good option) and of course a unique monologue. So for those of you wanting to join, also look up SPOTLIGHT, re-search and it truly is a great opportunity. LOVE jen (18th April 2010) xoxoxoxoxoxooxoxox" |

Amanda HurdmanHi, my name’s Amanda Hurdman. I’m a passionate, spontaneous and adventurous actress who’s always seeking new experiences. As soon as I heard of this opportunity to go to London and meet with these industry professionals I didn’t think twice about registering my interest – it just felt so right! I’m really looking forward to spending the week with other passionate and like-minded people, I know this opportunity will expand my knowledge and experience in a way that nothing else could. I plan to keep an open mind and a positive attitude, and I’m looking forward to helping all of us get the most out of our journey together! Amanda Hurdman attended the April London West End Week casting opportunities workshop with top casting directors and agents. This is what she had to say about it: “It was such an amazing experience. We would not have had this opportunity any other way! Some of these agents and casting directors receive so many resumes …every day they don’t have time to look at them all. We were so lucky to have 2-3 hours of their time to hear their perspective on the industry, share our audition pieces with them and receive personal feedback on our headshots and CVs. Some of them even said when we return to the UK we’re welcome to contact them for tips and advice!! I know they will remember us as this is the first event of this type they have attended. I’m excited about getting back to them with my updated CV/headshot and continuing the relationship!!” See what our Amanda has to say about the first few days of the April London West End Week (starting April 18 2010):
"Well here we are back at the hotel from an intensive day 1! I can’t believe we fit so much into one day yet it seemed to go so fast. We met with an Agent, a Spotlight representative and a Casting Director, however my highlight was the wonderful Nina Finburgh who coached us on our sight reading and audition techniques. …I got so much out of her session, she was great! Looking forward to tomorrow, we’re riding the London Eye and taking ourselves on a tour of Shakespeare’s Globe. I’m sure we’ll have some photos to share. I hope the rest of the team will be joining us very shortly! Amanda xxx Workshop Day 2: we met with Charlotte Bevan who is the casting director for Shakespeare’s Globe, she was really informative too. YES I have photos… I will upload shortly me xx Workshop Day 3: Day 3 was looooong and tiiiiring….. but GREAT! We left the hotel at 8am and got back just after 8pm. We saw 3 Agents, a Casting Director and did an intensive workshop with Chrys Salt. Fantastic!!… PS just had a drink with Jen – she got here OK!" |

The April London West End Week went ahead as scheduled even though some of the Australian actors were caught abroad due to the volcanic ash and flight disruptions.
The actors experienced intense workshop and one on one personal sessions with top industry professionals like, Sarah Hughes, Samantha Boyd (Creative Artist Management Agency), John Osborne Hughes, Nina Finburgh, Chrys Salt, Alison Chard and John Markham from The Markham Agency and many more top industry professionals.
A trip to Pinewood studios was enjoyed by everyone, especially a glimpse of the “Original” James Bond – Roger Moore enjoying a quiet drink. They were then given the opportunity to work one on one with Robbie Moffatt a Television and Film Director for Pinewood Studios.
After many hours of auditioning and working with these amazing industry professionals the Australian Actors were allowed a few hours to let their hair down at a function for all Casting Directors, Agents and Actors at Tiger, Tiger.
